In the early 1990’s, Type 316 SS products that could withstand corrosive environments were hard to find. During this time, zinc-plated, galvanized, carbon steel, and PVC-coated fittings were the norm in the industry due to their initial low price; however, reinstallation of these products after they began corroding became very expensive. A demand grew for durable products that would enable conduit systems to last longer.

Joseph G. Gibson recognized this demand and founded Gibson Stainless & Specialty Inc. in 1995. His focus was on producing on high-quality products while providing reliable customer service and quick shipping. The company began with an intimate line that consisted of products used as support fittings. As the demand for stainless steel grew, Gibson continued to expand its product lines to meet the needs of a variety of industries to offer a conduit system entirely in Type 316 SS.

Just as important to the quality of the product we offer is the quality of the customer service we provide. We strive to give our customers fast and accurate responses. While all Gibson Stainless items are stock items, we do occasionally have less in stock than required by the customer to ship same day. When this happens, we give our customers realistic and reliable lead times.
